South High, New York City

Columbus's own South High High School Students tour New York City, singing their rendition of the classic "On Broadway, on broadway" as one student puts it. [3]

Last year the students traveled to Washington, DC to tour the city singing their songs.

This year the students raised funds to travel to the Big Apple to see what the world thinks about how they've grown.

New York City, which is an Alpha City, or Global City, which refers to its status as the city "which [is] vastly more integrated with the global economy than any other cities," [1] is where the group will showcase their skills.

The students don't see it as intimidating, they see it as "amazing." [2] In fact, this is more like a choir tour you would see from, say, a private college.

"South High Harmony is something that they feel really proud of, and they should" says Dani Moore, Corps Member at South High High School. [4]

"School is really what you make it," indeed.

Fly Union Music Featured in NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Reveal

"We've only just begun... yeah I'm here for the long run."

HipHopColumbus has been following the rise of local rap crew Fly Union since their first album "Kill Fly U" debuted. 

@IYEBALL, @JERREAU, and @JAYSWIFA have been making high quality music, and making a name for themselves since 2007. After teaming up with superstar Lebron James from Akron, Ohio, Fly Union's exposure has been growing exponentially.

Fly Union music was featured in this video demonstration of next generation video game graphics in NBA 2K14, featuring Lebron James. The demonstration video premiered last week at Sony's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. 

Fly Union's music has been featured in the soundtrack on several MTV television shows, including Buckwild and Washington Heights.

Fly.Union "5000" Music Video

Fly.Union "5000" is one of the best videos shot in and featuring Columbus, Ohio. The crew, which includes production duo Monkey Wrench (Jay Swifa and Iyeball) comes down in an old school Oldsmobile, and features views of downtown, the skyline and bridges, and just enough fine women to keep it interesting.

Fly.Union recently toured with MTV Music Matters tour, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Stalley, and others.

Super Producer Mannie Fresh Coming to Columbus

Super Producer Mannie Fresh (best known for his work with Cash Money Records) will be in Columbus at Skully's Music Diner on December 4th, 2012 for the 5th installment of the popular "Clash of the Titans" Producer Battle.

The winner of the battle will meet with Mannie Fresh immediately following.
