“SMART IS THE NEW GANGSTER?”
Rappers use innovative spin in new campaign, new releases and show

October 9, 2009 (Columbus, OH) - Former OSU-student, rapper/spoken word artist Searius Add and producer/rapper Sinatra a/k/a “SupaNatra” will be performing live at Skully's Music Diner (1151 N. High St), Tuesday November 17 2009 at 930P in celebration of their latest CD releases and new brand: “Smart Is The New Gangster.” The RSVP, semi-private performance is the highlight of a one-month campaign celebrating the artists’ current undertakings.

In regards to his first EP release, “Smart Is The New Gangsta,” Searius asserts, “The best way to show your muscle is by using your head. You have to be able to adapt to the times using your strengths to your advantage...This project is giving the people a better picture of me and my personality.”

Sinatra’s mixtape, “Executive Gangster” is hosted by DJ Giovanny of Team Invasion Midwest and DJ Head Debiase of The Aphiliates’ and is set for an October release. “I did less production on this project... I aimed at taping into [my] artistry as a bona fide MC.”

Both artists plan on challenging popular notions, stereotypes, and opinions about rap music with their new CD releases.

On November 1st Searius is launching his new site, www.SeariusThoughts.com which will host his new e-book series as well as bi-monthly audiocast and videocast. “The new site is going to provide thought provoking, meaningful, motivational, and inspirational information with a witty twist,” says Searius. His new CD will be available via the site on November 10th; one-week before the show.

In preparation for the November 17th show Searius affirms, “We’re communicating directly with our demographic- we’re pulling out the red carpet for THEM.” Along with their own imprints- Nine-Tenths Media Group & Chief Execs Entertainment, respectively- some of the sponsors are area heavyweights KingsRowe, FlyPaper Magazine, Central City Recording, Presidential Entertainment, and Break Bread Entertainment as well as FlyFortune Entertainment, C-Busted, The J Club Experience, Cool Kid Radio, Hustle Squad DJs, TakeOva Productions, FlawLess and many others.

Searius Add has satisfied crowds as a rap artist, spoken word poet, event host, actor and step show choreographer. He has worked with internationally-renown DJ Mick Boogie and has been nominated for 4 Ohio Hip Hop Awards including Best New Artist, Lyricist of the Year, Best Mixtape Artist and Best Battle Rapper. Searius Add will be hosting the African-American Homecoming pageant at The Ohio State University next week and will be judging a Sprite-sponsored Step Show on November 7th on OSU’s campus.

This value pack was pretty disappointing. The songs are really drawn out and repetitive, and the beats aren't interesting enough to make up for it. Unfortunately this doesn't live up to the hype it got this week, especially with the fire they are playing in their behind-the-scenes videos.

Columbus Alive CD Release Party at Circus

Columbus Alive will be hosting their annual CD Release Party at Circus next Thursday, June 25th, 2009. The CD features music from Columbus artists including rapper/producer Sinatra, and rock bands Karate Coyote and Day Creeper, all of whom will be performing live at the party. The event is produced by the guys at Central City Recording. Doors open at 8pm and live music begins at 9pm.
